Show Mission Overview

Kinnaka and Kentaro have been publicly fired from the Chancellery by Dame Permas, then immediately secretly re-hired by Tovish. They are about to embark on their first mission working completely unofficially for Lord Tar. A man responsible for the safety and security of an entire nation, even a small one like the County of Greyhawk, is naturally going to occasionally run into situations that can’t be handled by that country’s legitimate peacekeeping organizations. Sometimes to keep the vast majority of humanity clean, a very tiny minority of humanity is required to get dirty. Kentaro and Kinnaka have joined that very tiny minority.

Their first mission is to look deeper into Dame Hakkima’s killing. Although the actual perpetrator conducted the killing strictly for profit, Lord Tar suspects a larger organization with more insidious motives and goals. The Chancellery has so far turned up one lead – the man who hired Dame Hakkima’s killers. Brill, aka “Sponge” has been tracked to Karakas, a small town on the new Greyhawk/Urnst border, and so, to Karakas our heroes have been sent.

Well, a new task in the investigation. The Captain came up with a way to narrow down the possible suspects, but it involved a quick interview with all attendees. That’s over 500 people! I’m was to find Sir Yalinari and enter into negotiations with each of the knights that we talk to set up a schedule.  It took most of the day, but by the end we had two leads—but those quickly evaporated. Still a good day.

I do have to relate one intriguing detail. When I was sent to find Sir Yalinari, I found him inthe gardens with a particularly lovely maid. He was regaling her with tales from afar and she was smitten. At lest, until I walked up to him and took his arm posessively. She positively ran like a frightened rabbit. I was so clsoe to tears. Sir Yalinari wasn’t all that happy and even less happy with the Captain for setting up this mission of getting permision for interviews. On the other hand, he wasn’t exactly unhappy to talk to Dame Hayiah about it either.  In my walks with him, I found Sir Yalinari to be changing. Oh, he’s still the rapscallion, but he’s also finding a more refined edge to him. I think that the role of Protocol Officer is working well. He actually seems to be able to focus on a task. I am thinking that the Company has given him something that he has lost for a long time.
