Show Mission Overview

Kinnaka and Kentaro have been publicly fired from the Chancellery by Dame Permas, then immediately secretly re-hired by Tovish. They are about to embark on their first mission working completely unofficially for Lord Tar. A man responsible for the safety and security of an entire nation, even a small one like the County of Greyhawk, is naturally going to occasionally run into situations that can’t be handled by that country’s legitimate peacekeeping organizations. Sometimes to keep the vast majority of humanity clean, a very tiny minority of humanity is required to get dirty. Kentaro and Kinnaka have joined that very tiny minority.

Their first mission is to look deeper into Dame Hakkima’s killing. Although the actual perpetrator conducted the killing strictly for profit, Lord Tar suspects a larger organization with more insidious motives and goals. The Chancellery has so far turned up one lead – the man who hired Dame Hakkima’s killers. Brill, aka “Sponge” has been tracked to Karakas, a small town on the new Greyhawk/Urnst border, and so, to Karakas our heroes have been sent.

Greyhawk

Tar’s Company was officially and legally founded on the 4th day of February, in the year 1210 (F.C.). That is the Company’s legal name, despite the fact that its eponymous Captain is a Knight of the Order of the Ram, and as such, is properly addressed as Sir Tar. I will use the Company’s legal name in this Journal.

Tar’s Company is currently comprised of:

  • Sir Tar Larson of Maven, KOR4 – Captain
  • Firena – Lieutenant
  • Sir Yalinari Dishin?, KOR4 – Equerry
  • Drathon, DG – Sergeant, Infantry
  • Hanar, DG – Sergeant, Cavalry
  • Nyra the Huntress – Sergeant, Archery
  • Morven – Magic Support and Journalist
  • Shasivin, DG – Infantry
  • Cust, DG – Infantry

Two of the above positions require further explanation:
  1. Sir Yalinari has no position within the Company’s chain of command. He answers directly to Sir Tar, and commands no one. I suspect this is minorly in deference to his title, and majorly to avoid making him responsible for leading people, a position many within the Company suspect he is not ready for.
  2. Our first mission as a Company will take us far from Greyhawk. The Company will not be accompanying us, leaving command to the Lieutenant. For this reason, Firena approached me to take on the position of Journalist, so as to have an accurate, honest record of the Company’s actions to present to the Captain upon our return. I am one of the few literate members of the Company, and a Truth Mage by training. I saw the wisdom of this request and accepted.

Here begins the Journal of Morven, Journalist of Tar’s Company.
