29 May, 1211 [7 Oct 1218]

Though stories will be told about Dreune the Capeless, many more will be told about Tovish’s black eye. The incident started late at night, with yet another one of the impudent little whelp’s practical jokes. This time it was focused on Nyra and my own tent. Tovish loosened the front tent pegs of our tent. When Nyra entered and went to close the tent, the peg pulled out and the tent collapsed. It took her a while to get out from under the heavy cloth and when she did there was stunned silence. At least all intelligent men were silent. Even Yalinari had nothing to say. Tovish on the other hand was laughing himself red. Though several of the Company started to approach Nyra, most were much slower than they normally are. She marched right up to Tovish and clocked him. Tovish quickly stood up and went to return the strike, but Nyra showed why you don’t screw with a badger—or badger shaman in this case. After three punches to the head, Tovish decided to take her town. That was when the Lieutenant stepped in. Tovish has a nice shiner and a bloodied lip. Nyra was relatively unscathed.

Though Tovish tries to live it down and playing off as he was unprepared, none are having it. It looks like Tovish will be mucking stables some more. I am not certain that Tovish is long for the Company. If he his, he needs to pick his victim’s better and impress the Captain with a good reason to keep him on. Even now, Ladbrooke is talking to the Captain and the master Sergeant about why they should keep him.
